Panel Discussion: Overcoming MBSE Adoption Challenges
International Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE) introduce Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) as the modern approach to Systems Engineering (SE) as well as envision that MBSE becomes a common practice and a synonym of SE by 2020. However, a lot of organizations, though understanding potential benefits of MBSE, struggle in changing their engineering practices and establishing a strong modelling culture. For getting started they need a transparent vision, which would answer their questions like “how long does it take to adopt MBSE?”, “what are the main phases of this process?”, “how long does each phase take?”, “what are the main deliverables and showstoppers of each phase?”, “what parties and how many people are involved in the process?”, “which party should take the leading role?”, “is MBSE adoption worth the investment at all?”. These and many more questions will be challenged in the role-based manager vs. engineer panel discussion. 3 managers/team leads vs. 3 systems engineers, two experienced moderators, and more experts in the audience on the campaign to find the silver bullet and fight common MBSE adoption challenges.
